The Nile River was an important source of water for the Egyptians because they lived in a desert. They needed drinking water and water for their crops. If they did not have the Nile they could not survive. They also needed the Nile for the yearly floods. The Egyptians were an agricultural community, so the needed a fertile area to plant their crops. The Nile accumulated silt that fell from the mountains. When the silt fell in the water it would come out and layer the land during floods. This caused Egypt to be fertile. Due to this, the Egyptians called this area the "Black Land" On the other side, there was the Sahara Desert. The Sahara was a place of deadly heat. The people would also use the Nile for irrigation. This is the importance of the Nile River. pg.98-99
The Nile was very important to the Egyptians because it made the soil very fertile and the Nile had silt in it. Also, farming next to the Nile was very easy, Egyptians could doublecrop because the soil was so fertile. It was also a very important source of water.
The Nile was very important to ancient Egyptians because of these reasons • They were able to grow crops and plants from the Nile Rivers water • The rest of Egypt was a desert without any water • They were able to drink and live on the Nile Rivers water • The soil was fertile from the floods
The Egyptians also were able to plant two times a year.
The Nile river was vital for Egyptians. It was the only water source because they lived in a desert. They use the Nile to drink water, fertilize the soil which made it better for them because they had good soil for the crops to grow, and it had silt in it which is very good for growing crops. As you can see without the Nile river the Egyptians populations would not survive because the Nile was it's main resource.
The Nile was important for agriculture in Egypt because the rest of the land was desert so they weren't able to grow anything. This was one of the only closest water resources near the Egyptians to drink from and for agriculture. As the Nile flooded it left silt (type of soil) all over Egypt. This made it easier to farm and grow multiple crops. Through the use of irrigation it helped them to be able to grow the crops in the desert from the source of the Nile River (Pg.96-97).
The Nile was important to the ancient Egyptians because they used its rich soil for agriculture. They couldn’t farm anywhere else because the rest of the area was desert (the Sahara). If the Nile wasn’t there, people couldn’t survive. The Nile was the only water available water source to the Egyptians. Also, the silt in the Nile is very good for agriculture.
The Nile was the only source of water for the Egyptians. They use it to drink wash themselves and their clothes and for irrigation. The rich soil from the river was rich for planting crops that provided for the city.
Nile was very important to ancient Egyptian civilization because if people back then would live somewhere else it would be hard because of the desert and the hot weather, but if people back then settled near the Nile River you would have water to survive and have water for agriculture/food.
It was important to life because they could drink clean fresh water from it. They used it to travel/trading goods to another place.they used it to water crops . This was easy because they could use canals to transport water to them and their crops.
The Nile River was helpful to the Ancient Egyptians because it was the only source of water for the people living in Egypt. The Egyptians also knew that they could not live without the water. The Nile was also helpful because Egyptians lived in a desert, so the Nile was probably the most important resource to them. They used the Nile to grow crops, use for drinking and to find food. Now you know, how important the Nile was to Ancient Egyptians. (Pg. 96 + Class notes).
The Nile River was important to the ancient Egyptians because it was the only source of fresh water in the deadly hot deserts of Egypt. The Nile River was also important because it provided dark, rich soil for agriculture. It also provided fish and many useful plants.(Pages 96 & 98 { Ancient Civilization textbook})
The Nile was important because it was the only source of water (The rest of Egypt was desert). also they used it for irrigation and the Nile as well washed over their land to make fertile soil. pages 96 98 twice
The Nile River was very important to the ancient Egyptians because it was the only source of water known to them. The Nile River provided water for irrigation and drinking. The Nile also provided fresh soil to plant crops. (Page 96,98,& 99)
The Nile was important to ancient Egyptian Civilizations because it was the only source of water in the dry, hot desert, which is also known as the Sahara Desert. Also, all life in Egypt depended on this river. (page 96) Also, the Nile carries silt, a very fertile and rich soil that is used for agriculture. The silt from the Nile allowed people to double-crop,which means to grow two crops on the same land within a year. The Nile River was also a source of fish and useful plants.(page 98)
The Nile River Valley srongly affected life in Ancient Egypt. The Ancient Egyptians would say that if the Nile River didn't exist then no life would have existed in Ancient Egypt.(pg.96) The Nile river is the world's longest river. It starts in Central Africa and slowly flows about 3,500 miles north to the Mediterranean Sea.(pg.96) The Nile River has 2 main sources: The White Nile and the Blue Nile. The 2 rivers meet in Khartoum now called Sudan.(pg.97)
The Nile river was very important to the ancient Egyptians because : - It provided alot of water to water their crops (pg.96). -It gave Egyptians the ability to raise two crops on the same land within a year (pg.98). -Egyptians used it for a drinking source (pg.96). -Nile River provided enriched water that can be used to make fertilized soil (pg.98).
Why was the Nile very important to Egyptian civilization?
All life in Egypt depended on the Nile River. This was because it was the only source of fresh water. The people of Egypt knew that without the Nile they would be a sun baked land of sky, sand and nothing. (pg.96) The Egyptians never knew the sources of the Nile. The Nile separates Upper and Lower Egypt. (pg.97) On the banks of the Nile there are strips of dark, fertile soil. The people of Egypt called their land “The Black Land” or Kemet because of the soil’s importance. They used the fertile soil to plant. In the spring, heavy rainfall and melting snow raised the level of the Nile River. In the summer, the Nile River floods and leaves behind a layer of fresh soil ready for planting. With this soil the Egyptians could double crop, or raise two crops on one land in one year. The river also was a source of fish and useful plants. (pg.98)
The Nile River was important because it was the only water source. The rest of Egypt was just a hot desert. (pg. 96) Another reason was that it played an essential role when it came to agriculture. It allowed Ancient Egyptians to double crop. (Pg. 98) Also, the Nile River was a resource of fish and useful plants. (Pg. 98)
The Nile River was important because they were able grow plants and crops using the Nile River water and if they didn't have the Nile River they’re land will be dry and they won’t be able to grow crops and plants. The soil became fertile because of floods that came from the Nile River and they were able to drink from the river so they can live. (Pg.96 & Pg.98)
The Nile River was important to the ancient Egypt because it was a freshwater river without it they would have not lived (pg.96). If the Nile wasn't there with water, silt, and fish then the people of Egypt would not have any food and would have died ( pg.98) .
Do you know why the Nile silt was important? Along the Nile there was fertile soil it was so dark that the Egyptians named their country "Kemet" (pg. 98). There was also a flooding every year so the silt from the Nile could help the crops grow. The Nile was mostly known for the great silt or rich fertile soil that it gave.
The Nile River was important to the Egyptians because Egypt was a desert. Without the Nile River the Egyptians would have no water and it would just be a dry place where people could barely even live in. The Nile River was also important to the ancient Egyptians because they could grow crops, drink water, and fertilize the soil which is better for the crops, also the Nile River had silt inside it which is good for crops. Without the Nile River there would basically be no life in Egypt. That is why the Nile River is so important to the ancient Egyptians. (p.g.96&98)
The Nile was important to the ancient Egyptian's because it provided water and supported settlements in the desert.(pg.96)Along it's banks, there was fertile soil which was very important to the Egyptian's because they could use it for growing crops. The annual flooding of the Nile created the fertile soil. Heavy rainfall and melting snow from the highlands poured into the river. When the water drained away, it left a layer of the fertile soil.(pg.98)
All life in Egypt depended on the Nile River. The Nile had two main sources the white and blue Nile. The White Nile flows out of Lake Victoria. The Blue Nile comes down from the highlands of present day- Ethiopia. The two rivers meet at Khartoum in the country Sudan. The Nile River also provided fresh water for the Egyptians. The Nile also contained silt or soil. Over the years the silt builds to make a delta. When rainfall drops in Egypt it leaves behind flood waters. Which leave behind fresh soil that is ready to plant? So the Egyptians could double crop. If it wasn’t for the Nile River Egypt would have been a deadly place of hot, burning sands (pgs.96, 97, and 98).
The Nile river was an important part of life in Egypt. The Nile is made up of two sources, the Blue Nile which flows from the mountains of Ethiopia, and the White Nile flows from lake Victoria. Both rivers meet in Khartoum, Sudan. The Nile provided silt and fresh water. Over time the silt made a delta which flows upwards into the Mediterranean Sea.(96,97,98)
The Nile River supported the Egyptians in terms of surviving in multiple ways. Since its water was fresh, they could use the water for drinking and watering crops. Without the river, Egypt would be nothing but a hot, dry desert because it is the only water source that flows through the entire Egypt. (p.96)
Most of life in ancient Egypt depended on the Nile river. It carried silt, which was a a type of dirt filled with nutrients that improved plant growth highly. Many poets wrote poems about the Nile some what 3,000 years ago.It is also the worlds longest river that begins in central Africa and ends in the Mediterranean sea,it is 3,500 miles long.
The Nile River helped Egyptians by: 1.the clean water was for drinking 2.the clean water was for growing plants 3.the rich soil was for growing plants 4.the rich soil was silt, silt is a type of dirt that carries nutrients which helps plants grow
The Nile River helped Egyptians by: 1. The water was used for growing crops. 2.The water was used for drinking and cooking. 3.The clean water made rich soil. 4.There was silt in the rich soil 5.Without the fresh water, Egypt would be a hot and dry desert
The Nile River was very important to ancient Egyptians. The long river flooded every year, leaving silt, a fine soil good for farming, on the banks of the river. Ancient Egyptians used this soil to farm, creating a food surplus. They referred to the area as the Black Land. The surrounding desert was the Red Land. The water from the Nile River was also used for cooking, cleaning, and drinking. Without the Nile River, Egypt would be a barren desert and would be unable to support human life. (Pgs. 96-99)
The nile was so important because all life depended on it. The nile has silt in the water which is good for farming. This soil was so rich that Egyptians could double crop. The river also had fish and fresh water. if the nile wasn't there the Egyptians would never be there in history
